Mobile Quickstart
The mobile client targets iPadOS first (the device most researchers actually read on), with the same shell running on iOS in tighter layout mode. Android follows after the iPad release stabilises.
Status
Mobile is currently in development. Phase 11 of the build plan tracks each surface (library, reader, notes, whiteboards, sync, settings, share-extension, EAS build pipeline). Sign up on the Download page to be notified when TestFlight invites go out.
What to expect
- Reader: PDF rendering with Apple Pencil support — pressure-sensitive strokes via Skia, sticky notes, highlights.
- Library: FlatList grid/list toggle, pull-to-refresh syncs, long-press bulk select.
- Share extension: Save-to-Ad-Marginem from any iOS app via the system share sheet.
- Background sync: every 5 min while backgrounded, plus on app focus.
Setup (once TestFlight invite lands)
- Tap the TestFlight invite link.
- Install via TestFlight.
- Sign in with the same account you use on desktop — your library syncs.
- The first sync pulls your library; expect a few minutes on slow networks.
Pencil tips
- Long-press the pencil tool to open the colour + width palette.
- Two-finger pinch zooms; one-finger touch (with the pencil deselected) scrolls.
- The eraser tool erases by stroke, not pixel — undo-friendly.
